When you visit Felino, the first thing to do is try a slice of the salami of the same name.
An agricultural and industrial town renowned since ancient times for its famous cured meat, Felino is part of a territory that bases its cultural and economic heritage on its production of food and wines: Parmigiano-Reggiano, PDO Parma ham, PDO Colli di Parma wines, and of course its “very own” salami.

The symbiosis between Felino and salami is so strong that, in the ancient kitchens and larders of the Castle, dedicated to this noble meat is one of the four “Taste Museums” present in the Parma district, offering visitors an interesting journey through the history of pork slaughtering and, in particular, salami production.
Surrounded by a huge moat, in a dominant, strategic position on the hill, the Castle maintains its 15th century defensive and residential layout, with a large inner courtyard adorned by a rich upper loggia.
Felino is on the route of the “strada del Prosciutto e dei vini dei Colli”, a food and wine trail presenting the best products of this land, through green valleys, cultivated fields and soft, rolling hills.
Attractive views of the landscape can be admired following the “Mountain Bike Grand Tour of the Apennines” or any one of the three different naturalistic, environmental, historical and Cultural trails in the local territory (Il Gallo trail, Del Castello trail and La Costa trail).
The trails are all signed on map, that you can easily find in Tourist Office.
