Of all the municipalities of the province of Parma, Traversetolo boasts two absolute records: its abundance of highly valued museums and the largest weekly market in Emilia Romagna.
Lying in the foothill area between the Enza and Parma rivers, it is also renowned for its typical productions: Parma ham, Parmigiano-Reggiano and its wines. The famous cheese and cured meat factories and wine producers open to the public for visits and tasting events bear witness to this.

In the centuries-old park at Mamiano lies the splendid “Villa” that since 1990 has hosted the “Magnani Rocca Foundation”, exhibiting works by Gentile da Fabriano, Filippo Lippi, Dürer, Tiziano, Van Dyck, Goya, Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, up to De Chirico, Morandi and Burri as well as sculptures by Canova and Bertolini. The “La Corte Bruno Agresti” Civic Centre houses the “Renato Brozzi” museum, with a display of sculptures, paintings, drawings, engravings and jewellery that the artist, active in the early 20th century and recognized as one of the most important of his day, wished to leave to his town.
For more than two centuries, every Sunday the squares and streets of Traversetolo have been filled with the traditional market that attracts 8,000 visitors to the town weekly and as many as 15,000 during the three annual fairs (in spring, in September and on 11 November).
The district of Traversetolo includes several types of landscape, including the splendid Cronovilla oasis, which can be visited using the “Map of nature walks” or by following the “MTB Due Termine” cycle path.
